Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Month.

Living with motor neurone disease (MND) presents immense challenges every day. It takes a team to live with the impacts of MND. June is Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and funds to support the MND community.

After carefully considering the risks of COVID-19 on the health, safety and wellbeing of our volunteers and generous donors, we have made the decision to not to hold a street appeal collection this month. However, you can still support our Virtual Street Appeal.

Simply click on your district’s fundraising page and donate what you can. You will also be given the option to leave a message of support on the page for others in your community to see. Thank you for your generosity, it means a lot!

MND New Zealand need to raise over $1 million every year in order to continue funding motor neurone disease support, information, advocacy, awareness and research.  Now more than ever, it’s important for us to connect and support one another.

It takes a team to live with the impacts of MND. Every member of the team plays a valuable part: family and whānau, friends, carers, researchers, employers, health professionals, MND New Zealand, and more. They all provide much-needed support to enable those living with MND to have the best quality of life.

This Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Month, encourage others to join our team as supporters, advocates, donors and friends. It takes a team.
